Old building dream in a square location: Spacious three rooms with balcony in Prenzlauer Berg
Christinenstraße 16, 10119 Berlin – Prenzlauer Berg
The building at Christinenstraße 16 is a genuine old building from Berlin's Wilhelminian era. Built in 1872/1873, the building is listed in the Prenzlauer Berg heritage list as part of the ensemble of historic tenements and commercial buildings around Teutoburger Patz that are worthy of preservation. During the extensive renovation of the building in 2013 and 2014, great importance was attached to reviving the historic appearance of the building. The fine ornamentation of the entrance to the building shows a classical style in the stucco. The clearly structured façade was given a plaster finish and attractive stucco design based on the building's historical model as part of the extensive renovation work.
The building services were also completely renewed. The refurbishment also included extending the roof and renewing the roof covering, as well as adding a balcony at the rear and replacing the windows with modern wooden windows with triple insulating glazing.
Location
The property is located directly on Teutoburger Platz in a charming neighborhood. The surrounding buildings on the leafy streets have largely been beautifully refurbished and the last of the graying facades of the historically significant 19th century buildings are currently being restored. Gaps between buildings have been replaced by new buildings with exciting architecture that blend in perfectly with the historic cityscape between the Pfefferberg brewery, Lottumstrasse and Zionskirchplatz. The old Berlin workers' quarter has become a popular residential area on the border between the districts of Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg. The vibrant Torstraße, Schönhauser Allee and Kollwitzkiez, as well as Weinbergspark and Rosenthaler Platz are all within easy walking distance.
A variety of dining options and a wide range of art and cultural activities characterize this Berlin city centre location. At the same time, you live here in a quiet and somewhat secluded location directly on the leafy Teutoburger Platz with its beautiful trees. The east of Berlin shows its trendy but also dignified side here.
