The student of Georg Baselitz, Jörg Gimmler (*1963), combines aspects of concrete art and minimal art to large size compositions, challenging the viewer with an analytically precise and ecstatic object, that is itself object of artistic abstraction."Mehrfache Verortung"("Mutiple Locationism") is the artist's own term for his technique, combining oil and acryl paint to similar shapes, that form suggestive structures – visual architecture, that does not haunt the spectator, but rather disorients.
